Farrow Partnership Architects recently hosted a reception at their office for presenters and delegates participating in the Design and Health Canada 2010 International Symposium.
The focus of the June 7 - 8 conference was health and wellbeing in the context of planning, procurement, finance, design, construction and operation of health facilities in Canada and beyond.
Guests included members of the design, research, health care, engineering, government and academic communities around the world.
The symposium was initiated by The International Academy for Design and Health (Design and Health) an organization founded in 1997 by scientists at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm. Led by Alan Dilani, Ph.D., The Academy is a non-profit forum for the global exchange of research findings among scientists, designers and industry. Dr. Dilani says that “a focus on health and wellbeing can be used to inspire innovative design and infrastructure solutions that facilitate an active lifestyle and enable the successful management of physical and emotional stress in our lives.”
